Haole on the Inside
I'm burying myself in the "Haole" rewrite. It's a pretty hefty rewrite, at least it feels like it is from where I'm sitting. On the brightside, I feel like I have a better idea what's not working right now than I did before. Some of the worldbuilding needs to get tweaked, a little more depth and angst is going to be added to Tom's character, and there's probably going to be a brand new character. The hardest part (I think) is going to be keeping the feel the same. From what I've read in rejection letters and critiques, the feel and the language of it seems to work, it's just some of the details don't add up. Funny how the smaller things are sometimes the most painstaking.
