Alas, another Fallen Horizon update.
The few of you paying really close attention at home (Hi Emma!) will notice that the word count has gone up by about 5,000 words since my last post.

As I type this, I'm taking a break from rewriting the last chronological chapter in this book. I'm rewriting it from scratch because I was afraid of the copy, cut, and paste job I'd do on it if I didn't completely reboot it. There's still at least one new scene to add involving the story's new villain and Templar, and possibly one small flashback sequence, but I'm very, very close here.
How close? So close, I'm willing to say I will be done with the rough words of this sucker by the end of this week. Sure, there will be some spit and polish that needs to be done afterward, some brass that needs to be shined, a couple of connections that need to be double-knotted, but I'm going to knock out the hard words by the end of this week. Why? Because I'm ready, and the story's ready. I'm not worried about comprimising my story at this point. This is where I grit my teeth and finish it. Like I said, I'm that close. By this time next week, I want to be prettying this book up.
And that's not all. I've got other stuff going on that needs to be done, too. I need to write the promo for Superspiff and the Toothpick Kid, post it and the chapters on the podcast, as well as work on my secret project. So as you can see, I've got a ton of stuff to do, and I want to be done with the majority of it by the end of this week.
So I'm hereby declaring this week, July 21-26 HELLWEEK '08. Anyone else tired of a nagging manuscript, short story, screenplay, podcast, etc., and looking for a good excuse to knock it down is free to join and post comments.
