Bits and Pieces
Tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6:30pm I'm going to be participating in another reading for my writer's club. I think I'll be the closing act, and I think I'll be reading the first chapter of Superspiff and the Toothpick Kid (again) and God-Shaped Box, since they're both pretty short. If you're anywhere near Whittier and want to pop by, the library's here (on Washington, not on Santa Gertrudes). It'll probably be over around 8:30.
I've got tickets to see BRMC, er, I mean Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (as Emma prefers them be called). I'm pretty excited, especially since the set-list shows they've been playing a good deal of stuff from the Howl album and EPs. Although if they play Love Burns, I'll very much geek out.
I got a nice rejection from JJA on "Haole." He liked the Hawaiian stuff, but not enough to hold his interest. I may be sending it out again today, after I read it over another time.
Fans of Mur's heaven series -- Season 4: Wasteland is now up in its entirety. Imagine getting an entire season of your favorite TV show in one set, and you'll pretty much understand how I feel. I've listened to half of it, and I already dig it more than Earth.
Finally, I've started doing Weight Watchers again. I'm tired of being slower and less flexible than I want to be, and I'd like to be in better shape all-around, so I signed up for the online program yesterday. My father-in-law's lost close to 30 lbs since the beginning of the year, but he's a WW freak. I doubt I'll be that strict, but I hope it'll help get me in better shape, and that the results will help me feel better about myself. After a day and a half, I'm already a lot more conscious about what I'm eating thanks to the online journaling/points tracking. I probably won't write too much about in the future, because I know it's really not that much fun to read, but I might mention progress occasionally.
