"I`m still in a dream, Snake Eater"

Kristen and mom came to Osaka on saturday!!!! it was really awesome having friends and family meet my osaka friends and family. Everyone was really nice and excited to get to know everyone else.
After Okonomiyaki and tako-yaki for dinner we went to Karaoke and that was awesome!!!
The highlights were Ryouta singing "Kimi ni bump" which had an awesome disco music video with sweet moves, and getting to sing "Snake eater" with mom singing backup.
Everybody seemed to have a pretty great time, Kochan and I sang some duets(against his will).
Kristen and I sang "Love is all around" from love actually which ruled.
The night just felt super great and its hard to describe. You really had to be there. There was great energy.
TOmoko`s boyfriend iketchi was flirting with me alot. I don`t know what the deal is with that but it was fun.
I got to interview (for the peace exhibition) one of the monks at koya-san on saturday morning and also did some interviews this morning. The monk had good answers as did Keiko san.
So yes a good time was had by all.
I think the rest of my time here is going to be pretty good. I`m going to be busy this week shooting more interviews which I have become very comfortable with. Next week will be maybe more shooting and editing. the week after that Ill probably help with setting up the space and then I have opening week, so Im pretty booked and everything seems to be coming togehter well.
I saw Katsurai san on thursday. He had been out all may and june but he said he had been put in charge of overseeing me edit a 30 second spot for the Heiwa Exhibition so that will be really cool. It was really nice seeing him again.

I got a sweet belt pouch that resembles a tool belt and I instantly fell in love with it.

mmm and just some extra thoughts, I just watched Episode V (empire strikes back) in Japanese and it`S so much better than any of the prequels. The moods better, dialogues better, the humor is less over the top and clever. For all the money spent on special effects, the prequels lose out to good solid sets and models, though some of the explosions looked pretty godzillarific. Yoda`S voice is much better I think in Japanese. It fits his look but the sentence structure doesnt suck, which was tolerable in the original series but drives me nuts in the prequels. It seems like in the original trilogy they wrote the dialogue in the broken sentence structure but in the new prequels they wrote normally and then just changed the sentence structure afterwards using a formula in order to fit with whats to come.
C-3pos voice doesn`t seem to be an accurate translation of what the character is but works with the language. It seemed like instead of "what would be the Japanese equivalent of an english accent" they said "what japanese voice would best fit his personality and characteristics"
"I am your father" totally doesn`t sound as good in japanese.
Han Solo lost a lot of his charm and humor. They couldnt translate "Laugh it up fuzzball" or "And I thought they smelled bad on the outside" adequately.

So yes, pictures tommorow!
