Fires....... and a ring.
Ive been with my family all day in yarra glen, the fire devastation is unbelievable.
My brother fought the fire all night, and he still has his house and his family, thank god. His whole land is black and burnt but someone up there must love him because it was like someone drew an invisible ring around his house where the wind kept changing and kept away from his house, by only metres, but still.
He is the only house left on his road. His neighbours have lost everything, no house, only rubble left. Driving up the Skyline North road and seeing families sitting on their rubble crying was so awful, so devastating. i couldnt believe the mass of destruction. There is just nothing left.
I never expected anything like that.
His neighbour has third degree burns all over his hands and face because he was trapped and was saying his last goodbyes on the phone to his family before he amazingly got out.
Its so so so awful.
Im so so glad his house and my parents house is okay. Karma? Why did he get to keep everything and everyone around him lost everything?
But otherwise i guess i have been kind of lazy in making this post but nick & i got engaged last week.
So happy, but after today it doesnt seem like it matters at all.
It was a very romantic proposal and i was completely surprised.
The ring is exactly what i would have picked for myself and it is exactly the right size. He got the diamond imported from Switzerland and its a D Grade brilliant cut :)
