The past few days have been great. Our dev team is assembled and we are making great strides as normal.
I spent Fridays not feeling well at all, and so I went out into the world and pitched our game some. I met a VERY intelligent girl who was extremely engaging. I would not give up to many details about our dev cycle, but she did engage me on political and religious debate; we have a lot in common. I asked her to join our dev team.
Some people see Elvis, I saw Johnny Cash; leaving a parking lot on a Motor Cycle, as we were entering to get gas.
Saturday night we (Jake and I) went bar hopping. We went to The Loft first (it was dead), the Malibu (it was dead) and then the Library (it was -not-dead). We had a drink at the Library, then went back to the Malibu, and had a drink (it was -way- to High School) and then we went to the Loft to have a drink...
The Loft friggin' rocks. By this time I had had a lot to drink and was having a blast; mind you I was not -shit faced- but I was very friendly. Somewhere a long the night I had picked up a British Accent, and could not live it down, so I had to keep up the rouse.
The music at the Loft is always live on Saturdays. We stayed for two local bands, Lawn Dogs and Horticulture. The music they were playing last night was a little Jazz, Bluegrass, Lounge, and Rock. It really had no genre but it was really good!
Mind you, I was -gone- by this time, so I am smiling, and talking to every one around me. I know when I am making a fool of myself, and I wasn't, but I was -very- social, and everyone at the Loft was really nice. It was like a bunch of rednecks, hippies and Irish Chicks. There was a guy there, Jimmy, who was exactly like my ex's boyfriend, before me; and he was -really- cool (she always said that I would like him if I got to know him).
When I get really drunk, really drunk, I can dance. But it's not a dance you have seen in this part of the world, it's a Ninja Dance. Last night, I did -not- Ninja Dance. I danced an M-F-ing Jig! It was great! The music, the cute Irish Girls, it was too perfect, so I found myself taking a back-seat thinking, "look at you fatty, look at you dance!"
The prerogative for the night was to have fun, I did; and I never found myself lusting, not once. I am starting to regain control.
This morning was nice. I got out of bed, took a shower -while listening to talk radio- and went off to Church. Red Mountain Christian Center; it was just the right size, the people were really friendly, and the music was -not- lame. The first hour and a half was an 50-60's Sunday school service, it too was -not- lame. I learned a lot. It was also taught like a theory class, Lecture + Open discussion. It was refreshing.
Then there was the actually service, they played what was a few new songs to them, but songs I already knew. I found myself bolstered with confidence and singing openly. Being the new guy has some benefits. I didn't have to prove anything to anyone. I could be myself. They don't know my past.
Thirdly was Flood. They call themselves "young adults" in this case they take it literally. They are the 23-30 crowd. The 18-21 crowd has their own thing. I sat with -them- in the service, and then I went to Flood afterward. In Flood, we talked of Philosophy, it was a new series that they started today, and I got in on the first lesson; again, very engaging. I feel spiritually and mentally fed. I am fat and happy.
I am resisting, but I feel the tug. I think I will be called into ministry after I get my Bachelor's. His will be done...
