When prophetic preacher and Messianic Jew Scott Holtz came to Open Heavens a few months ago, (as well as on Juanita Bynums show) he blew the shofar (a Jewish instrument of battle and jugment) and prophecied that God was about to bring judgment on the sleeping/dead churches of North America and that in the coming months we were going to see big name church leaders exposed for their sin and put out of their positions as leaders. He said "don't be surprised when you see it happen. God is cleaning house and He's starting with His church"
And on November 2nd Rev. Ted Haggard, pastor of a mega-church and president of the National Association of Evangelicals is exposed as having used meth and frequented a homosexual prostitute on a monthly basis over at least the course of three years.
The prophecy came true. And I won't be surprised when more such situations follow.
Personally, I think this "scandal" is a good thing for the Church. It's like a flower bush that can't thrive so long as dead or sick branches are allowed to remain. Historically, revivals always follow repentance, and unconfessed and unrepented sin in an individual or in a church simply gives the devil a footstool and an open door. And when the sheperd of the church isn't on guard, his sheep are open for any attack.
I keep witnessing prophecies that come true and small-scale miracles and healings as I hang out with these charismatic types.
Interesting just might be putting it mildly.
