If you aren't on facebook and didn't get the message yet:

"Me and my board of trustee's for the Tobermory Replacement Camping Trip have decided upon a final location... We will be staying at the Au Train Lake Campgrounds in the Hiawatha National Forest. This location has been selected because of its close proximity to pictured rocks, lake superior, Au Train Lake and Au Train river (which ends in lake superior), and the city of Marquette. Meaning there will be plenty of fun things to do and see.

As we know the campgrounds are FIRST COME FIRST SERVE, but do not be alarmed because 1. We have a small convoy group leaving late night on the 6th to reserve as many sites as possible come morning time and 2. We can fit up to 8 people, 2 cars, and 2 tents on each campsite. With that in mind I don't foresee any problems with finding a campsite. The campsites are $14 a night so bring enough cash flow (not your credit or debit card) to throw down your share for the campsite although it won't be very expensive.

Here are the directions from lake orion:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=lake+orion,+MI&daddr=County+Hwy-550+to:Campground+Rd&hl=en&geocode=%3BFaGkwwIdowfU-g%3BFc7owwIdrvzS-g&mra=ls&via=1&sll=46.37453,-86.790619&sspn=0.056257,0.152092&ie=UTF8&z=7

Keep in mind that there may not be cell phone service anywhere near our campgrounds so be sure to pay close attention to the directions to avoid any problems. If you can leave late night (about 11 or midnight) on the 6th to convoy with the early birds then by all means you should do so, but if not the directions will lead you right where we will be.

BEARS, they're fuckin' big, they're fuckin' scary and we don't really want to deal with them so with that in mind we don't want our campsites looking like Tobermory last year. Keep any food in cars unless you are cooking or eating it. Also any kind of trash or things that have touched food should be in the car. THIS INCLUDES YOUR PARTY DRINKS AND EMPTY PARTY DRINKS. Just a fair warning for everyone's safety.

I really have no idea who is actually going on this trip or can drive but I would like to know a ball park estimate. If you really want to go let me know asap. If you can and will drive let me know asap. I'm not going to be "assigning seats" like I did for last years trip but if you need a ride and can't get one I'll try to hook you up with someone who says they will drive... so far we have a decent amount of people who say they will drive so i hope there isn't a problem. Just get a group of people together and meet us up there.

As far as camping equipment goes you should know the drill... tent, cooler, decent clothes, blah blah blah. If you need some camping gear and your group/car can't find any let me know and it may be possible to find some for you or share with another group/car.

Basically, to sum everything up don't be an idiot. Go on the trip if you can get the days off. It won't be that expensive and it will be tons of fun. Find a group of three or four people to drive up with and get down on this shit. We want as many people as possible to convoy with "The Early Birds" on the 6th but if not try to leave early on the 7th to meet us there.

If you have any questions hit me up with a facebook message or phone call or text or myspace message or instant message or whatever the hell you use.

Yours Truly, sincerely, and with love,

Mikey Friedman"
