[A sigh escapes Rue's lips as the SFC clicks on.

In the background, you can see the plaza--and she's wet, like any other newcomer might be. She isn't one, of course, but she has been gone for a while, and has now reappeared as if she were one.

She doesn't look too happy about it.]

Really, now, Vatheon. I think once was more than enough.

The city tends to do the most unexpected of things.

[ A slight chuckle before the teeniest smile curls onto his lips. ]

...Thank you.

[Is that a smile on her, Doctor? Or perhaps a smirk?

Maybe. Either way, she is certainly glad to see some familiar faces again.]

I hear quite a lot has been going on without me.

Several things as of late.

[ Just a sec, gonna take a sip from his teacup as he forms his words. ]

But nothing all too dangerous that you should concern yourself. I'd think the worst was over for now as nothing seems to come out of that cavern... And there seems to be a way out forming?

Of course, this is all just speculation.

[kruehe]

[She nods, looking unsurprised.]

Indeed. I've been told about the elevator in construction. [Huh, not about that cavern though. But she'll ask about that in a moment. She's rather concerned with a way out.]

...Are you assisting with that?

[xblood_lusting]

Oh, hardly have the time, my dear. My knowledge doesn't extend to mechanical details and I doubt I'd be much help in the 'brawn' department. But, as always, I remain on the medical staff.

[ A slight laugh. ]

May I ask, did the city return you home?

[kruehe]

[She doesn't think she would have been much help either. So she supposes fair is fair. At least he has the medical experience, which would become useful. She--

Well, she is only a worthless crow.

There is a pause, however, as she seems to consider his next question.]

It's possible. I don't remember much, I'm afraid...

This city certainly has it's ways...

[ A sigh. ]

But at any rate, it is good to have you back at such an opportune time, my dear Rue.

[kruehe]

Thank you, Doctor.

[She manages a faint smile. She's not an overly social person, but she'd be lying if she said it didn't feel nice to be welcomed back.]

It'll be interesting to see what the surface holds--if such a project is indeed successful.

[And speaking of projects, wasn't the Doctor in the middle of something? She'd have to ask about that.]

[ A pause as he thinks this over a moment. ]

Provided this is to give us a way to the surface... and not just one of Alpha's hairbrained schemes.

Though he is the man who seems to be responsible for bringing us here...

...We should probably keep on our guard.

[She knows humans well. And Alpha does not seem like the one with the best intentions.]

What of your own scheme, then? You've not said much about your little project to me, you know.

[xblood_lusting]

[ Oh. Well. Hm. His little project. But then, this little lady has secrets of her own. Perhaps with a little persuasion... ]

Unfortunately, there is hardly any progress as I haven't quite found someone with the right... qualifications, should I say?

But why the sudden interest?

[kruehe]

...Merely curiosity.

[She looks at him, sadly unable to even begin to speculate what these qualifications are that he might be looking for. But it won't keep her from trying.

How could her story be any good, after all, if she has no imagination...?]

Does that bother you?

Not in the least.

[ Well, this girl looked like she'd seen a few things. But since she's curious, best to just skip the finer details. ]

You see, I seek the ultimate cure: a cure for death itself.

[kruehe]

...A cure, for death?

[She blinks once and stares at him. Rather interested.]

I should think that's impossible.

[Then again, would that not be the point of seeking the cure?]
