I decided to watch this movie last night after my friend Mary shoved it in my face and said "have you seen this? I'm liking Emily Blunt and she's in it."
I had started to watch it when it first came out on DVD but I think I started watching it really late and ended up falling asleep. Then in true Kris fashion I never ended up finishing it.
Wind Chill is a spine tingling, spooky story about 2 college kids that decide to take the scenic route when going home for the holidays. They get ran off the road by a passing motorist and honker down for the coldest and creepiest night of their lives.
This movie was simple. It was low budget. You could count on 1 hand how many characters are in this film. There weren't many special effects.
This movie was fun. It was creepy. It was spooky. It was well acted.
It was a tiny, well wrapped little package that you want to open last on Christmas morning because it's small and not very appealing like the bigger gifts - only when you open it, it's a beautiful diamond ring.
Not many people will have ever heard of this movie. When reading the back of it, you may carry it in your hand around the video store as a "maybe", only to decide against it for something safer with more copies like I love You Man or Push. Haha.
But, this movie far exceeds any expectations I might have had of it. Maybe I'm getting soft when it comes to low budget movies since I'm watching so many lately, but I don't think so.
I'm actually going to take it in tonight and have Mary watch it herself. Even better than that, I'm going to recommend it to people and see how the masses respond.
If you're reading this, I think you should try it too!
