I want to meet other cybernetic beings.
No... I have no desire to meet other Cybermen. I'd have to kill them on principle, and I'd enjoy the Hell out of it.
I'm also not that jazzed up about meeting the Borg. The last thing I'd want to do is try to have a deep conversation with one hundred thousand partially organic beings all at once. From what I've heard, not one of them would prove to be an exceptional conversationalist. It would probably go something like this:
"We are the Borg. Your technological and biological distinctiveness will be added to our own."
"Okay. Good luck with that. I'm just here because I wanted a healthy perspective (beyond my own) on what it's like to be a cyberne--"
"Resistance is futile."
"So I've heard. Listen, you aren't still po'ed about the bitch-slapping the Cybermen gave you guys in sector 850392 are you? I was still a drunken pugilist when that happened. I'm only here to chat."
"You will be assimilated."
*gets poked at by borg assimilation turbulars as they extend outward from its forearms automatically*
"Hey! Cut that out!"
"You will be--" *punches the Borg drone in the face.*
"Doofus! My neck is armored. You might as well go and try to assimilate a Volvo."
"Urk! You will be ashimilated. Reshistance ish futile."
Am I the only one noticing a striking resemblance between a Borg drone, and the living dead? The only thing they're missing is a headstone fitted above their alcoves.
So yeah, that would go well.
I'm at the end of my rope. I crave contact with beings I have a common bond with, but I'm extremely limited by my list of choices. Sure, there are beings out there with issues similiar to my own, but only in the broadest sense. The galaxy is filled with organic beings who regret their past actions (much like I do). I've also met others who have become more than what they were meant to be, but paid a hard price for it.
We certainly share commonalities, and I'm thankfull for each of them because of that. I still want more. Is that wrong?
