Kiddie Castle

Jun 20, 2007 00:41

Well, I had a couple days off from work in a row (sort of) and I was determined to get some sort of real writing done, so I decided to start small and take that "poetic abortion" from my last post and, uh, un-abort it, as best I could anyway. Here it is:

Kiddie Castle

I left for the castle by the River Stones,

To escape the prison of my home,

And see the stars above me,

But we've tucked them in, goodnight,

With a blanket of electric light.

Iron torches burning bright,

On the empty, wood-chip glade,

But I sit within the castle's shade,

Hearing Albion's authors from beyond the grave.

I could stay here, and swing my time away,

Until I'm finally lain down in my sandbox tomb,

Within, but separate, from the Mother's womb,

While the children play in their desert pen,

Their laughter lulling me to asleep again.

Submitted for your approval.
