When I finally made some time to update LJ decided to stop working properly for me. It took me ages to load even the "inbox" page

Murphy's Law, isn't it? *sigh*

I can totally understand your dislike against the winter months. I guess for me really cold days with sunshine are still better than cold enough days without sun, but with clouds and wind. Ugh.

It's good to hear that you enjoy your time at home! I think leaving again doesn't get easier though, even if you have to do it again and again, right? So enjoy your days at home.

In what country can you walk on the beach on January 3rd in just a t-shirt?

*-*

But we didn't even have a lot of real snow in Bavaria on Christmas, so yeah, I guess it's warmer than it should be pretty much everywhere (except Russia) right now.

Oh, I'm sure, the weeks between now and March will just fly by and before you know it, you'll be back in Rome.

The boys will be at the PCA? When are the PCA awards again?

Aaah, I'm blushing here ... ♥ I'm glad you liked the card. If there were mistakes though, I'd be happy if you told me so that I can learn from them and improve my Italian. We haven't learnt much about sentence types or tenses yet, so I had to improve and ask some not-really-Christmas-card-worthy questions, but I'm glad you liked it nonetheless. *g*

ahahahah yeah, call it payback or something.

yeah, the sun makes all the different anyway. But in London there is no warm nor sun so... :/

It's never easy to leave. It'll never be. But when the time you spends here is so much "quality time" you feel kinda fullfill and like you can handle what comes next you know?

Yeah March is not that far away and I have lots to do in the meanwhile.

It seems so. they have both being invited and they are listed onto the list of celebrities who will present and award. I think Sept 9th if I remember it right. But that's for the States of course, we are gonna have to wait for some streaming or something....
I think the guys will be super cool. Just... they will probably be accompanied, if you know what I mean..
and I fear the "aknowledgement" moment cause Jensen has a lot of chances of winning the best drama show actor award or whatever that's called.

You have been so good. We were all impressed with your hand-making skills! :)
let me go check the card again so that I can tell you what you got wrong..

This reminds me of a children's book where a mouse collects sunshine in summer to keep him warm and happy in winter whereas the other mice only collect food. ;)

You mean January, not September, right? Aren't the PCA always at the beginning of the year and the TCA in summer?

Thanks. *^_^*
Okay, sure. :)

Actually, I just googled it and found out it's written by an Italian author:

(Italian everywhere. *g*)

Right so, your Italian was really good.

"Che cosa fate A Natale?"
(it's like in English, you say what do you do AT/ON Christmas?)
"Che cosa mangiate?" (perfect!)
"Dov'è l'ultimo dell'anno?"
(this is wrong cause you can't say "where is New Year's Eve?" cause it's not a place or an object you're asking for the location.Like you would say that if you wanted to ask "dov'è il libro (book)?" But in this case you must use another verb than "being" such as to celebrate that in italian is "festeggiare" so ----> "Dove festeggiate l'ultimo dell'anno?")
"A Roma?"
"Che cose ti piacciono molto?"
(I understand what you mean here but the correct form would be "Quali cose ti piacciono di più?" or better, singular cause the plural is implied "che cosa ti piace di più?") and you must put it in a context like "Che cosa ti piace di più del Natale (about Xmas)? or dell'essere a casa? (of being home?)
Cause otherwise you don't understand about what you're asking me my preferences. ;)

But really, this is me telling you all the little mistakes so that you can improve but the letter was still impressive for someone who only studied italian for a little while. :)

I wanted to say "Where are you at ..." but well, I got the person wrong. So it's "Dove sei/siete all'(?)ultimo dell'anno? A casa?" or something like that?

Ah, okay, I understand the "quali cose" thing. We haven't had that form yet though, I think.

Grazie!

it would be "Dove sei L'ultimo dell'anno?" but I would still use "festeggi" better.

you'll be a pro in no time!

Well, these are just feelings as a native speaker I don't have. In German, it would work perfectly fine and I would even say that "festeggiare" would sound stilted. A little bit.

you can still say it, don't get me wrong.
and well, that's normal. I still don't have that not even in English.

I sometimes have problems translating from English to German because then these "language feelings", or whatever one might call them, clash and it sounds weird.
But for English, I think, I learnt (<-- see?) both British and American stuff and now it's all a little bit mixed up.

yeah, same here. Especially now that I live in England... but I LEARNT English in the US. XD LOL

but whatever. it's already something to be able to make people understand you when you speak/write in a foreign language.
