I've been working for Security Company for just about three years now, and my schedule hasn't changed in the last two, so it still amuses me to no end when the call centre calls me to basically inform me that they forgot what my shift looks like. Again.
Today wasn't nearly as bad as some other instances of this nature, they only were going to accidentaly stiff me an hours pay, as opposed to having an entirely different schedule for the week, for which I have to hold their hand and guide them through to the real version (this actually happened). The conversation went like this:
Me (5:20am, taking a brief bathroom break, recieve a call on my cell): Hello?
Sick Sounding Guy: Hello Dan, this is Security Company call centre, we missed your five o'clock off-call this morning, and just making sure everything's alright.
Me: That's interesting, because today, my off-call is at 6am.
SSG: Really?
Me: yep, it's one of my seven hour shifts. Next Sunday is at five though, as was last Sunday.
SSG: Right, then. I'll just change that in the computer. Have a good day.
Me: You too.

Now, I realize that they can't do much about the schedules themselves, as they get them uploaded from the main office, week by week. So I blame the stupidity of the guy at the main office who brain farts every now and again, and screws things up. I think I know the guy who's doing it too, which is kinda sad.
