Kronos was in the middle of updating his lab notes when the news on CNN caught his attention. He watched with indifference at the unfolding scenes of violence and destruction in Lebanon and Israel. Then he leaned back and listened half-intently to the Chinese Ambassador explain his country's stand on North Korea's Nuclear Program. There was a commercial before the daily death toll in Iraq was given. This was followed by the predictable political spin from the United States Government. Then the reporters gave their unwelcome opinions concerning the theories behind all these horrific events.
He chuckled, finally having seen enough, and then turned off the TV. "I inherited my beliefs in humankind's nature when I was still young and men warred upon others out of pure ignorance. It's kind of funny. Until this day, those beliefs have never changed. But then neither has mankind." He shrugged and went back to his lab notes.
