San Diego (part 1)

Oy! It's been awhile, hasn't it? There was a part of me that wondered if I should even bother posting anything about my San Diego adventure since its now been so far removed. But I've been wanting to commit this to "paper" so now's as good a time as any.

So San Diego was gorgeous. The weather was perfect. We had the beautiful sun beaming down on us while the cool ocean breeze came in kept things cool. You know, if it weren't for the fact that the place could potentially crack and fall into the ocean, it would be a perfect place. I think that, if I were ever to become a multimillionaire, I'd like to buy property there.

Anyway, the hotel was only about 6-7 blocks from the convention center and only a few blocks away from the Gas Lamp district so we were in a perfect spot.

Most of our time was spent at the convention (well it was the reason we went in the first place) but we did get time to check out some of the sites. On Wednesday, we managed to get to the beach which was beautiful. Very much unlike the beaches here in Michigan. I think it was the lack of seaweed that I enjoyed the most. Also, not finding condoms on the soft sand was a plus too. And, although I didn't partake in the water, it was nice to have that option unlike here where, by doing so, you might develop a tail or third nipple or something just by touching the water. Superpowers would be nice... but I'm just not sure what kind of superhero I can be with a superfluous nipple (of course, I just might not leave home anymore... wait, that's obscene)

Oh, yeah... and I went to a Jollibee for the first time. Filipinos know what Jollibee is so for those who don't. Jollibee is a chain of Filipino fast food resturants. They are the Filipino equivilant to McDonalds. They are everywhere back in the Philippines. Well, someone thought it would be a good idea to bring the chain to the States and what better place to have them then the state with the most Filipinos ever, California. So my friends and I got the crazy idea to seek one out and luckily there was one not too far from where we were. Ah... Jollibee. Where it seemed like the only people that would eat there are the Filipinos. Especially if you're calling your hamburgers and chicken: Yumburger and Chickenjoy (respectively). So I had myself some Chickenjoy and it wasn't bad. I love the fact that it came with rice. Other options included a side of spaghetti or a side of pancit palabok (noodles).

That same night, we took in a movie... X-Files. (I need to review that one...)

I love the landscape. Mountains off in the distance... hills.... water. The geographical landscape is so different than Michigan. And even though there are buildings everywhere, the hills just feel more "organic". I think that was my favorite part.

Overall, I love the idea of San Diego. I don't think I'll ever leave Michigan, but I think this would be a great place to own property.

I'll post soon about the Conventions. Until then, true believers....
