18 luxurious homes crashed down a hill in LAGUNA BEACH, 1,000 people in 300 homes evacuated.
This area has been hit before:
In October 1978, a mudslide in the same canyon destroyed 14 homes.
In October 1993 fire swept down into the city and destroyed some 400 homes. Most were rebuilt.
In February 1998, a rainstorm triggered slides that damaged 300 homes, 18 of them severely, and killed two people.
I don't understand, why my tax money have to pay for rebuilding multi-million dollar estates on land, which is proven to be unsafe?
