Reflection:
I would like to honor the passing of King Oedipus. He passed away with strong fate and respect from all of the village. He will be remembered for his service to God. Oedipus was greatly loved by his wife and mother, his father King Laius, Jocasta, his children, and adoptive parents. Despite Oedipus confusing lifestyle he was strongly respected by the village of Colonus. All the citizens of Athens respected him for his great doings as a king. Oedipus will be remember for eternity as a hero who saved the people of his village and respected everyone and his fate.
Looking Ahead:
In the story "Simple Recipes", by Madeleine Thien, the title is an extended metaphor for the life of the narrator. The daughter in the story (the narrator) looks up to every move of her father. Her life is as simple as a recipe, but when she see her father beating her brother her life changes. It isn't so simple anymore. A quote from the story "A cupful of grains in my open hand, a smoothing out, finding the impurities, then removing them piece by piece" is an example of how the title was an extended metaphor for how the narrator thought her life was simple until something tragic happened. You can't change what is defined as simple because there are complications in everything.
