I need internet at my home - something I can use both on a laptop and with a PS3 if I decide to get one. It needs to be as cheap as I can make it.

I am woefully uninformed.

Check USI Wireless's rates and limitations. I know L had good experience with them when he was living alone. And I'm pretty sure they have it in your neighborhood.

You may want to price out a mobile hotspot. I dunno if it's cheaper but it's the route my sister went and we use a pay-as-you-go one when we travel and it works for us.

You should be able to use your phone and its data plan as a modem for your lappy. If you have Froyo, you should be able to turn on Mobile AP in your WiFi settings. IM me about it.

cable internet is probably the best bang/buck unless there is cheap wifi near you.....dunno if they give you internet without the cable tho....

If there is Verizon FIOS in your neighborhood, they have a $50 plan, which is better than you'll get from Comcast last I checked. I love my FIOS, but I have the $70 plan, which is faster and includes wireless. But the other plan is still pretty good compared to most stuff; FIOS is blazing fast, and doesn't go out nearly as often as Comcast always seems to.
