I am done a little early...
http://kochachan.deviantart.com/#/d41r6lv I can't come up with a name for this guy. I would describe him as a pop Lovecraft elder god with an unintentional dash of S&M. If you have any name suggestions please suggest away.
This is my entry for this year's "Colour of Munny" show put on by Lost Marbles, an Ottawa based designer toy and offbeat collectibles store. The show isn't until September (date TBA) but once I get an idea rolling I really can't leave it alone.
I am happy with how my first regular sized Munny turned out though I would like to make note of a few things:
-I feel like this is my first "real" piece. I have never used bases before. Now I need to go bigger and better.
-This photo does not do the pearl-like paint justice. I was going to go with white but I found this inspiring light silver.
-Scupley was easier to work with than I expected. Had been a little scared to try out the medium after childhood trauma associated with regular clay.
-Glossy finish is a pain to work with especially if you are impatient as I am. It really takes 12 hours to dry. I wanted this to have a high gloss finish but I think I might have been fine with a matte finish.
-Glue guns are probably not the best adhesive to use. :S I am still this and have a few things to learn. The strings are everywhere (as you can clearly see in this shot). I am going to try and clean up the glue...somehow.
-My fiancé is endlessly patient with me, my art fits and breakdowns. He helped paint the 131 skulls and when I messed up the finish on the wings he helped me sand them down so I could repaint them. Good guy.
