Halloween 2009

Nov 02, 2009 21:18

Hallowe'en. So awesome. Yeah.

Friday night I went to the Heroes and Villains party hosted by the Comic Book Shoppe and hosted at the Atomic Rooster on bank. There was a couple on a date, clearly unaware of the party before making the date. The woman looked very unimpressed and the man looked mortified. Can't say that I blame them. 60 plus nerds in costumes? Kinda scary. Kinda awesome... :D High school friends, animation friends, comic book shoppe friends and other nerd friends...Awesome.

I wish Hallowe'en fell on a Saturday every year! Chris and Jenny hosted their usual Hallowe'en bash and topped themselves yet again (see photos)! The biggest surprise was Heather and Mark showing up in Ottawa all fancied up! I kept looking at Heather thinking, "That LOOKS like Heather but she is in Toronto." IT WAS HEATHER! :D :D :D

Instead of rambling on I will post stolen photos taken by friends (photographers include Mark, Kristin, Mason, Jenny, Antonia, Phil, myself, and others)! Some of them are personal favorites and others are a few random shots from the parties. Enjoy!

Refernce: Superboy/Kon-el

Phil-El? Get it?

Center piece which pumped juice through the bottom of the severed head into a cauldron (pump - homemade).

The hostess with her awesome syringe Jell-o shots.

Leslie's papiermache mask for her interpretation of a Kathie Olivas vinyl.

1st place costume winner, Darren as a classic hobo.

Heather and Mark interpretation of a Sylvia Ji piece. Reference - do look up her work. It is stunning.

Cheryl n' I keepin' it real.

Jenny with a very creepy handmade bunny costume worn by Andrea. The bunny costume is a reference to a Matthew Good song.

Andrea sans mask with Steve as Electro.

Jordan as Harry Crane from Madmen.

Kristin's homemade Steampunk Marie Curie costume. LOOK AT THE PIPING PPL! That is a LAB COAT!

And if you didn't think science was hot...

Mason as the post-accident Pierre Curie. ALSO handmade.

Mason's head piece.

Jordan as henchman Number 21 from the Venture Bros punching out Aaron. The 'Crash' was part of the decor at the CBS Heroes and Villains party.

Mark took this photo after our post-Halloween brunch (20+ people! :O :O). Yeah everyone but Mason look like dork faces but I love this shot. Jordan's the drummer.

Zod, Ursa and Non from Superman II - Jody, Thea and Ryan (Comic Book Shoppe peeps)

Trapped in the Phantom Zone.

No idea who did this shop but it is hella great! :D
