It doesn't count if you already know the trick and it won't be as funny. :P
Kristy came to town the other day. We did our usual tour of the downtown core. I ended up buying a copy of "Dearly Devoted Dexter" (I got a much needed injection of cash), scoped out
Tiny Titans, which is adorable, the new Silent Hill Comic, Sinner's Reward and the new Clockwork Girl. Of course, this reminded me to go and see what was what with my fav artists. The news that excited me the most was Kunkel's
"Billy Barton and the Magic of Shazam!". GLEE! We haven't seen new a comic by him in a while. Wish the Hero Bear movie had panned out...
Okay, "Dearly Devoted Dexter", shortest read ever. I think I read it in under 3 hours with breaks. I was disappointed with the length but it was pretty good. VERY close to the first season. It wasn't a spectacular read but it was light, easy and fun. I am tempted to read the other two because they deviate entirely from the second season. If anyone is interested in borrowing it, let me know.
We also hit up the pet store, where I resisted buying another budgie. They had a very healthy looking one in the colour I wanted...Sorta like
this but with less black (which was more of a grey) and less blue. So pretty! The bird guy there also showed me the shipment of show budgies he got in. I had never seen them before IRL and knew that they were
fat budgies with afros but they are fricking cows! They are about three times the size of mine and could probably eat one of mine for a meal if it decided it looked tasty. O_o
Speaking of birds, I have two birds that will eat out of my hand while they are outside the cage, and another one that never leaves the cage but will eat from my hand. Poor Blueberry is scared of life and has a mad crush on his cage. Because of this, I think he is my favorite. Don't tell the other two.
I have decided to allow the wings of the two birds from the humane society grow in (awkward sentence). I had a minor freak out when Sunny pulled at her blood feather and started bleeding all over the place. :| I know to avoid cutting them, but he doesn't know not to pull at them. If what I read is true, a bird can bleed to death from a broken blood feather. O_o No more of that. They are going to fly. Plus, and this may be me being weird, but I think they are happier when they can fly.
Currently, Sunny does venture around the room on occasion (I only let him out when I am home. I NEVER stop watching him when he starts to wander. He can't get back to the cage on his own either so I have to wait 'till he is tired, then I help him back). He prefers sitting under my computer chair and on my elliptical machine. :P Yes, I took some pictures. My current mission is to get a video of Pacha swinging on my curtain strings. Pacha is nuts, a healthy nuts but nuts. I have a feeling he will live forever...touch wood.
I KNOW I am stupid in love with my birds. This is what happens if you deny a kid a pet. When I was young, I wanted one SO badly and was never allowed anything but fish. Now I am making up for it. :P
Sunny on my computer chair. Sunny is kind of a grumpy bird. He puffs his wings out like that a lot which either, I think, means he is scared or angry. Just a side note, the garbage bag is my clean laundry. It was laundry day, oh joy.
Sunny on my elliptical machine. He looks up at it in wonder all the time. I think it upsets him when I "mount his friend" to work out. :P
And Sunny on my chair again. Sometimes he will sit there while I am on the computer too. Silly birds.
