After some ups and downs...including a dizzying hangover Saturday...I think I had a great weekend.
I keep looking at this
adorable photo...warms my heart.
A Tim Zombie photo edit ("Dead Rising" parody). He won a copy of "Dead Rising" for his efforts.
Saturday I went with a few people to the 50 hour LAN party in the Tabaret Hall Chapel. It smelled of nerd. We got some interviews, got some general shots of the LAN, Dave made a fool of himself and I played some DDR. Did you know they have hardened home pads? O_o They are awesome. They don't slide and dont entirely suck! I looked like a fool at first because it had been about 4 years since I have touched anything but an arcade machine so I didn't remember any of the controls...then I busted a move. A "That was not expected...she is good..." came from the crowd. My fellow crew made fun of me for being a huge nerd. Thanks guys.
"Anyone want to do an interview? No?"
No one looks.
"Come on! You get to be on camera!"
No one looks.
"No? My cameraman is a girl!"
Half the guys look over...
...boys will be boys...
Sunday was the Zombie walk. Since I had planned on going (how better to get over a breakup other than a Zombie walk? I can't think of one!) anyways, the head of Zoom asked me to bring a camera to get some footage. I get to edit it soon. I am mildly nervous because I haven't edited anything in years. Will be fun. I just need to wait until my midterms are over.
The zombie walk had a GREAT turn out. Someone guessed there was about 400 zombies storming. It was awesome to see the costume efforts, the weird stares, hear the zombie jokes ("How many zombies does it take to screw in a light bulb? BRRAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIINSSSSSSSSSSSSS") and being yelled at by the Jesus woman. "You don't have to do this! Jesus LOVES YOU!" Sigh...good times. Even the Chinese food after was awesome...well deserved too. Zombie walking is hard work. :)
Because I was filming...I couldn't take pictures so I stole some from Ryn and Julie. Thanks girls.
JULIE'S PICTURES:
Julie, one of the girls I stole photos from, after Heather and I attacked her, on the street, with makeup. She is beautiful.
Heather and I on the bus heading to the graveyard. It was awesome to see so many zombies on the bus.
There was lots of blood...word of warning, wear clothes you can get bloody. I got blood on my camera case. Thankfully not on the camera.
Zombie walking is haaaarrrrrdddd...Heather pauses for a snack.
Zombie giraffe.
After a small nibble on the leg, Heather finds her strength. On the other hand, Ryan looks kind of green.
Mt trying to capture the magic while I get overrun by zombies.
Zombies like to shop too. This guy was hilarious. He was chasing the girls from Aldo Accessories.
Zombies love gummy bears too! But, only the red ones.
Zombie Heather joins Zombie Ryan in the search for the illusive red gummy bear.
RYN'S PICTURES:
Great makeup job.
You can see Matt in the yellow shirt. He was a Harry Potter zombie with the glasses and Griffindor scarf. Matt even had a band-aid for his bo bo.
The mob moves on. It is hard to see but the guy in the blue house coat had been "impaled" by a plunger.
