Some time before PCIE becomes obsolete, thanks

Ordered a new video card which I was rather impatient to get ahold of. The tracking number showed it as delivered to the Please Couriers depot on Wednesday. On Friday, with no updates to the tracking, I call and ask WTF. I was told "oh, the driver didn't pick it up this morning, so it'll be Monday for sure." Three working days for a delivery? Not happy.

Checked again today, still no update to the tracking. Call again, get put on hold, then eventually cut off. Call again, put on hold for 5 minutes, then get told "oh, the driver didn't pick it up this morning, it'll be delivered tomorrow". A small thermonuclear event ensues, during which time I'm told "hey, I'm just the messenger". No. No, you're not, because messengers DELIVER THINGS. I ask to be punted up the chain to complain and get a startled "Oh! Um, hold on (subtext:You're just meant to fume impotently rather than make a fuss)", and after another lengthy wait on hold I don't get to talk to anyone managerial, but am told by nervous proxy that they have engaged a different courier company to take it straight to my door this afternoon. Yep, they had to pay someone else to do their job for them. Never, ever use Please Couriers.

Merete called me just now to let me know that yes indeed my coveted bit of tech was finally in the house. I told her that I may weep tears of joy - I didn't cry at my kids births, but those deliveries took nowhere near as long, and there was nothing amusing like gas or the love of my life screaming in pain to distract me until the package arrived.
