So a few weeks ago, we had an election up here in Canada, and it was... pretty much useless. Still a minority Conservative government, still Harper in charge.
Today, all of you in America have your election, and it is the furthest thing from useless. So, as an outsider to your election process, I make these two requests.
1) Vote. I don't care if you are a McCain supporter in the middle of New York City. I don't care if you write in The Reanimated Corpse of Abraham Lincoln on your ballot. Vote, or lose all credibility when you complain about the government later. And trust me, eventually, there will be something you'll want to complain about, no matter who wins.
2) If an ounce of justice remains in your heart, vote for Obama. Your country desperately needs change, and while I personally believe McCain would revert back to his older, more respectable ways were he to be elected, he still wouldn't bring about the widespread reforms that you guys need.
Plus, if McCain wins, there is the very real possibility of President Palin, and nobody with a shred of sanity wants that.
