Silly Rabbit, bricks are for kids!

This Friday consisted of way too much cake!  Yes, there's such a thing, please reference yourself to the cake vs pie charts.

School finished up, I was given a certificate, people clapped, then there was a bit of a party: weird for just a short course, hey.  I then trekked over to my old volunteer job where I'd been invited to their Christmas lunch for volunteers... funniest bit was Liz coming to the board room with an armful of soda cans, then at the last second dropping one, which hit the table - split a hole near the top, burst straight into her face, then did a 720 spin spraying everyone... the whole room... the windows... the walls... the whiteboard... the ceiling fan, with cola:  teeheeheee it was great.

Friday eve was a visit past parents for Laundry, then a hastening 'come on Kriy you're late!' over to Yiska's to finish prettying (eye makeup, and getting daunted again at actually putting on the false lashes), and out on the town for an evening of Metal!  \m/

Haven't gone to a metal club ever before, interesting place. Music was really varied and had no flow between styles, I thought, I recognised half a dozen songs through the night only, but have decided Pirate-Metal is definitely the best.  The patronage was predictably long-haired and black-clad & seemingly friendly. There were black lights so I ordered G&Ts to get my glowfix. One fight broke out ... I think it was over a girl, since there were subsequent crying drama hugs happening between some of those in the hallway.  Anyhow management wasn't happy so they closed down the whole event early and we tussled out onto the streets at 2am, still singing Queen.  Toodled off via Bourke St to see the Myer windows without the crowd, and to see if E55 or Spleen were open so we could continue drinking (3 of Us I should say... since Kareokye was with us).

It took an hour+ for three drunk folks to walk from King St/ Flinders to get all the up way to Spleen at the top 'o Bourke.... meandering adventures, singing songs, so many songs.  Spleen met us up with BrotherMikhail who was inbetween work shifts, couldn't drink, and was running on 1 hour sleep in 48hrs or so.... crazy man is crazy.... and laughs at *everything* when he's that sleep deprived.

Anyhow the bit I wanted to blog about was the reactions Melbourne had to my dress.  Yiska and I had decided to get prettied up for our clubby dancey night: she went all gothy~flowy purple and black and looked stunning, added a black waist cincher belt with shiney buckles which was totally metal \m/ !! (:P).  Myself, meh I had no idea so I'm like.... ah yeah metal clubs, band t-shirt wearing, right? I have only one of those... I'll put on my Tool singlet (yeah I know, it's a long stretch to call them metal but it's the only fitting band t-shirt I own, get off my case!). Aaaand... those pants....aaaand... that new miniskirt BeingBec gave me over them.... and Giant Stompy Boots because it'll highly likely be wet out there and I want to stay high and dry.  Look in the mirror and have a 'holy shit, hello again!' moment & realise that I wore this outfit pretty much the same at Soundwave, except for the new skirt, which *totally makes it better*.  Add arm warmers for good measure, singlet being sleeveless and they might be needed.

Apparently the outfit was metal enough, because on stepping off the train, a guy in a group walking the opposite direction of us went GRRAAAAAGHHHHH! metal growl at us.  Interesting.  A little girl on the train called Yiska a freak... but this was more I think because of her ability to go crosseyed, rather than her dress. Another two guys nearing King decided to comment at us in some unflattering way.  Another two guys on King tried to follow us into the club... security guard rejecting them for the "private party" for alternative types and them being all "but I LIKE goth girls!".   So we certainly stood out. The most blunt proposition was to come, at Spleen, from rather drunk guy from WA, who asked if I would like a drink "no thank you".  Then, would I like to Fuck?  "no thank you".  He came back a few times to try again, even bringing a jug of beer to our table - but I don't drink beer, and only one out of my three companions did, so that fell flat on its face also... he later relised it was no use and retrieved his beer jug and stomped downstairs again. hehhh.

A little scary since he seemed a 'don't take no for an answer', or at least a.... "maybe if I ask again and again and again then I'll wear them out and the answer will change", type of guy.  Drink the beer drink the beer drink the beer drink the beer DRINK THE BEER! was said at one stage, until Kareokye had one.  He apparently also followed me to the bathrooms when I needed to use them, and had been hovering outside the door going 'oi.. oi!?'  ... but I'd worded up one of my friends to say I was going there and to stop him if he tried to follow, which she did <3 .   I love having a group of friends who will close pack around me and not actually let drunk guys like this sit closer. Yeah. Yay friends <3.  Heh, at one stage he mentioned he had lots of money, while trying to convince me.  What am I a prostitute?

And just cuz I dress like that, doesn't mean I'm asking for it :P

But it *was* nice to get a conspiratorial "you look really pretty" whispered to me from someone I actually knew.

So I strutted. I strutted down Bourke St to get pizza, while Kareokye serenaded me with Stayin' Alive.

HELL. YEAH.  I did that.
