(no subject)
Hey livejournal,
I am a bad friend. Its's been 23 weeks since my last posting and I have rarely kept in contact with those on my friends list. (Even people I consider close and even those who live <1 hour away from me)
When I was pregnant I recall speaking to a co-worker about, 'after I have the baby she asked if I was going to be one of those moms who no longer goes out and doesn't drink or see their friends?'
'No way was that going to happen'
With that said we don't go out much no keep in touch with friends as often but I don't feel that has anything to do with the wee one. We just enjoy the domestication it seems.
We have our own little 2 bedroom home now in a nice community about 20 mins from downtown STL on the other side of the river. It has the fenced in back yard for the kid and dog. A nice patio to entertain and we often find ourselves lounging on the couches with the new plasma tv with netflix rentals or 'yo gabba gabba' booming from its speakers.
Mark has become quite the successor at his place of employment and literally makes more $ than most adults twice his age. He fell into that job and we hope it lasts for years to come. I am taking my time with school and took the summer off to prepare for full time again in the fall with harder classes. Even though I had a 3.786 gpa last semester which I am quite proud of, I was setback by not all my classes transfered to my new school but we did move to a new district and I really didn't wish to drive or pay out of district expenses.
Anakin is still enrolled at a fancy pre-school at an pretty much all black church. They are wonderful people and we have recently have even gone to their church picnic where they are all very welcoming and warm. The pre-school has done wonders for his social skills not to mention he counts to 10, can name his shapes and colors, and also we practice our flash cards of animals at home which he tends to do the sounds rather than cite the animal names. Duck card 'quack quack quack the duckies do'. Dog 'woof woof dog' horse 'neighhhhh' lion 'roarrrrrr' it's by far the cutest thing ever besides his dancing and his catch phrase for everything 'awwww mannnn'
I'll end this with things looking forward to in the months to come:
-Anakins 2nd birthday
-A laptop purchase so I won't use my sidekick for internet only, maybe ill be a better online friend as well.
-Heather's wedding & kiddie visit
-Finalizing my engagement ring choice
-Hopefully in that not so distant future our friends popping out kids....I want more playdates than just with our neighbors!
