So yesterday was basically absolutely awesome. I ended up not skipping geology and making a fool of myself by accidentally making a really loud noise right at the end, making it sound like I was going to leave, and our teacher hates that...for the second time this week. But after that, all was fabulous...I picked up my paycheck and headed off to seattle, where emily, justine, and I embarked on pretty much the most seattle afternoon ever. We went thrift shopping in capitol hill, and I found the most GLORIOUS 80s prom dress for picadilly tonight. (a semi formal dance at my school) It's ridiculous, but really flattering...so the best kind of ridiculous. I don't know if I'm going to wear it tonight, though, as I think everyone else is going to just be pretty. But we'll see. Anywayyyy, then we ate at Dick's and headed to Chop Suey to see Rooney...which was really fun, lots of good memories. There were, homever, about a bazillion noisy 13-year-old girls, but they were good for a laugh. And this kid we dubbed "partially committed rockabilly" who kept trying to start moshing...at a freaking ROONEY concert. Anyway, most of the 13-year-old girls were freaked out, but since we're bitter old ladies we didn't stand for it and emily kicked him in the butt with her heel really hard. Good times! The first opener, the catch, weren't good at all and the lead singer looks like a cross between a strung out Paige from Degrassi and the girl from U.S.E. (who I'm sad about missing last night...but I had an awesome time and will see USE again soon I'm sure. Like hopefully this summer!) The second opener, Everybody Else, was really fun and the lead singer is
pretty much my future husband. (the one in the navy-and-white baseball shirt thing.) Emily and I kept making eye contact after their set when he was watching rooney...it was nice, he stayed around in the room after the whole show was over to take pictures and sign autographs. We didn't talk to him though because my camera died, we had nothing to sign, and nothing to say. But anyway! Next time! We then went to get slurpees and decided the cups would make excellent autographing surface, went back, and Robert, the singer from Rooney, was outside. This girl took a picture for us that was really cute and said she'd send it, and we think she actually will as she was super nice. He didn't have a sharpie though, boo. Anyway...then there was adventuring. To make up for having no camera up to this point, we bought a disposable one and photoshooted like crazy all over Seattle. First we took pictures at the escalator by Bartells in capitol hill and on the hood of my crazy muddy car, (all from the drive down-I drove through this construction zone around lynnwood on I5 and suddenly there was mud from everywhere, then it stopped) then over to seattle center and the space needle and creepy rides at night time, then over to gasworks park which feels like something out of 28 days later at night, and finally to the Fremont Troll which took some searching. Good times! Work's almost over, and picadilly is tonight, which I hope will be fun. Wooo.
