In San Jose

Well, I got to San Jose OK. I owe the guy who checked me in because he put me in one of the very few seats in Economy that has any kind of legroom for both flights. It was pretty fantastic. Now I'm in the hostel and I'm thinking that perhaps I'm getting a little too old for hostels. There are a lot of people who look my age here, but I don't know how I feel about sharing a room with a bunch of strangers anymore. When I travel around Guatemala on my own, I'm either getting a private room in a hostel or staying at a budget hotel. This place is also like a maze. And somehow they gave me 2 alcoholic drinks when I got here, which I don't particularly want to waste but really don't want to drink, either. It's pouring, so I have no idea what San Jose looks like. Joanna's flight isn't supposed to get here for another 35 minutes. I guess we'll see how it goes. I'm also still feeling rather crappy, but much better than yesterday. So we'll see ... at the moment, all I really want to do is (a) eat, since I haven't eaten since 11am DC time, and (b) talk to my parents. Yes, I'm 25 and want to talk to my mommy and daddy. It's fine. This is fairly typical for my first day in a new place.

That's it for now. Also, apparently there's no water from 10pm-10am. Don't ask me why.

still sick, san jose, flight
