I'm being indecisive

So.... I keep going back and forth on this Thailand thing. I really, really want to go and live somewhere else for awhile and experience a whole new country and culture. However, the economy and job market are going steadily down the crapper and I'm rather concerned about the likelihood of finding a job when I get back. If and when (probably when) we have another depression, I don't want to be one of those people without a job. Currently, I have a job I enjoy at a company that really takes care of its employees and people with whom I enjoy working. It also pays me well, especially for admin work, and there are growth opportunities. I'd be an idiot to let that go, especially with how everything is going right now. But Thailand... I need help. Someone tell me what to do as I am clearly incapable of making decisions.

Maybe I'll save my money and get one of those around-the-world tickets and travel for a year once things start to get better (most ideal situation EVER). Life tends to get in the way though. Who knows - I could be married and knocked up by the time that happens. Also on topic, I came across an ad for a travel writing workshop in Bethesda for 6 weeks on Wednesday evenings. I signed up. Between my European adventures and Japan, I think I can definitely find experiences to work with. Travel writing is ultimately what I'd like to do with my life; I just don't know how to start. This workshop should help. I start on the 18th.

I have a ticket to the Rilo Kiley concert at the 9:30 club tonight. I went to Caitlin's to drive over to the metro and then found out that Rilo Kiley isn't even going on until 10:45. No way am I going to hang around listening to crappy bands for 3 hours! I came home and I'll leave here at 9:30 or something and meet up with them later. I also have to be up at 8:30 tomorrow morning to wait around for the Comcast guy. Supposedly he'll be here between 8:30 and 11, which means probably at least 12:30. Oh, Comcast. You're so obnoxious.

Jenn and Pat got married last weekend! They were both beaming the whole day and it was adorable. Jenn looked stunning and I'm ridiculously happy for them. I hope they're enjoying their honeymoon in Montana!

That's about it. I'm seeing the Sex and the City movie tomorrow with my friend Megan. And seriously, give me Thailand/staying here advice. Pretty please!

crappy job market, happy wedding, being indecisive, writing workshop, thailand
