Okay, so let's start this much needed update with me saying that this summer has NOT gone according to plan by any means. However, sometimes not having a plan is the best way to go.
Initially, I was supposed to work the YMCA summer camp at my school. After 12 hours of training, the bitch ass of a cooridinator decided to let me know the day before school that she no longer had a job for me. Keeping my cool, and maintaining faith that Jimmy and I would still take our vacation, I searched for different work. No luck... apparently, no one likes the idea of a temporary employee. Result - vacation plans altered.
Alternative route - embrace the fact that money will be tight for two months and enjoy life. I have gone back to a life I forgot I once had. I sleep in, stay up all night... sounds boring, I know. I've caught up on some much needed movie watching and book reading... taken in several house projects, bought a new updated version of my car, visited old pals... and figured out a way to still make it to Boston (thanks to a special someone).
We've spent many nights at Disney with their "extra magic hours" - good god, I can't get sick of that place. I took a trip with Bori down to the old West Palm over the weekend. I saw some great friends from high school (Danielle, Ryan and new boy, Karim, Amanda, Chawalik). Went to the beach and got BURNED, drank many cafe con leche fuertes from Havana, visited the old stomping grounds of O'Sheas, Respectables, and ER Bradleys (where we dined and listened to the Roots, Lauren Hill and India Irie across the street). Overall, it was a great weekend of leisure and good times. In two weeks, I go to St. Augustine for more beaching with Joanna and D-rock.
SOME BIG NEWS:
1. My lovely LeeCEE is coming here on Friday to celebrate her birthday! I can't wait, I'm sooo freakin excited. Ironically, I thought I wasn't going to be able to visit her this summer. Turns out that two people love us very much - her mom and my MB. Be it as it may, I'm visiting her at the end of the month, but she is also coming here this weekend. Hell, I think it's better off that I'm not working this summer ^_^
2. This one's too big for words! See the upcoming post for the picture that says it all ;)
life is good, however uneventful it is...
