My next bartending gig
...is this Saturday. This guy who runs a catering company was looking for a bartender for a high-end dinner party in Lloyd Harbor (near Huntington) this Saturday evening. Although I offered to let him "shop" for a bartender until he found one, he said (a few times) he didn't want to be answering phone calls/emails to look for someone on Friday night at 10:00 in the evening. He wants someone who can do the job and is a professional at it. So, I said "yes". But now I'm getting nervous (like I usually do) that I won't be good enough. He says he's a easy guy to work for (and I believe him) but I fear that my skills aren't up to par (I won't be quick enough). Hopefully this will be a easy gig (like he claims it will be).
Update: after waiting until 1:00 P.M. for him to call me with when/where to meet him, I find out the gig has been postponed. Turns out he forgot to call me. Great.
