its been a pretty eventful week. or two weeks.
semester 2 started on the 22nd.
i like my classes.
not as much as i did last semester,
but i think my grades will be a lot better this time around because my schedule isnt so crazy.
im taking creative writing, art history, studio art and some required math course (my first math class since junior year).
i only have class monday wednesday and friday leaving tuesday and thursday open for me to work..
which brings me to...
my new job,
i started life guarding at the eastside Y on saturday.
sooo much better than stupid CCR.
its sweet to have to wear shorts and a t-shirt to work instead of a skirt, button down shirt, vest, bow tie and apron.
friday night thom and i tried to see my sister's band play in ithaca
but my car broke down in interlaken (14 miles outside of ithaca)
(car broke down at 8pm)
we had a crazy adventure in the middle of no where
then we + car got picked up at a gas station by the tow truck around 1am
the driver was awesome. his name was tim. he can parallel park ANYTHING, ANYWHERE.
my car is not so awesome, however.
it needs a new engine a.k.a i need to buy a new car
so that sucks.
the same day i found out about my car, i got thiis e- mail:
Dear Kristin,
Congratulations! On behalf of United Way of Southwest Louisiana, I'm excited to inform you that your application to ASB 2007 has been accepted! As part of a team of young people from across the country, you'll be helping to rebuild lives and communities impacted by Hurricane Rita in Southwest Louisiana. We're looking forward to working with you.
thats right, i am officially part of MTVs Alternative Spring Break. (
http://national.unitedway.org/asb/ )
so im not too bummed about the car thing because that made me really happy.
i can't wait.
thats all i can think of for now.
