Last week was such a busy week for me at work. ePLDT is working on a new campaign to promote English in all of its call centers. We also partnered with different "low end" universities (that's their term, not mine) to ensure that the proper use of English begins in school. After all, it's never too early to start. There is a scarcity of public school teachers who are proficient in English, that is the reality. I think it's very noble that PLDT funds different workshops, (a few of which, I've facilitated), to help these teachers along. I taught sound production and grammar to teachers from Jose Rizal University, Adamson, and the like. It's very rewarding. And sad at the same time. Every little step counts I guess.
We launched the "EASY ENGLISH" campaign Friday at the Rockwell Club. Various PLDT executives were there. I was a little jittery about hosting the event, but mainly, I just wanted to get it over with. It went well. I enjoyed myself too, much to my surprise.
Earlier in the week, we went skating with Vic and Mallorie. Then dropped them off at Vic's, hung out for a bit. Marty and I had steaks again! My comfort food. :)
I got my hair cut, now it's much too short. I hate it. Now it's Marty's turn!
