(no subject)
two words:
SNOW DAY.
i left my computer on last night (i usually shut it off) with the school closings website open just so i could get up this morning and check it. i would have prefered a delay, because i don't get paid for snow days, although i'll get paid when we make it up at the end of the year.
today i am going to make ornaments for my kids. i got a whole bunch of stuff at dollar tree yesterday, including a package of silver-painted pine cone ornaments. i thought "PREFECT! there are 18 kids." but after i got home i thought "crap, we have a home-school kid..." (who's perfectly lovely, just not always present). oh well, i was going to make her something anyway because the rest of the kids did secret santa and she wasn't there, so i'll just make her two!
our christmas tree is wonderful, aside from the sections of lights that won't blink for some reason, hehe. we're too lazy to fix it. maybe i'll wrap some presents, too, so it looks even christmasier.
i leave to see my family in florida next thursday. i'll be gone the 22nd-28th. my mom thinks that's too short considering we're spending a couple days in orlando (EPCOT!), but for some stupid reason, flying back on the 29th was more expensive.
hmm, what else. roy and i are going to see harry potter this weekend. last night he said, looking at the kitchen table, "we should have a nice dinner at the table this weekend." which made me happy, because he usually doesn't think of things for us to do. and we usually eat in the living room in front of the tv (which isn't anyone's fault, we just like tv. :P). so happy kristin this weekend, yay! oh, and i just found out that my favorite wine is stocked at a liquor store closer to school (they delisted it at the stores closest to me), so maybe i'll drive the 1/2 hr to get some, hehehe. if not this weekend, then next week after school.
