Thank you all for the Pat advice. This is what actually went down..
Wednesday night, Pat, two of his roommates and I went to a bar for a few drinks. We were all hanging out, and then the other guys went to play pool, so it was just Pat and I. Pat and I were talking, just shootin the shit and all of a sudden he got really serious. He was like, "Kristin, I just want you to know that im really sorry." I just looked at him, and he went on, "Im really sorry about everything that happened with us. I never meant to hurt you, and I was a really big asshole. I just want to make sure that everything is cool between us, because our friendship is really important to me." I was kinda taken back by the whole conversation and just told him that I was never expecting anything from him and that all i wanted was him to be honest with me. He said, " I know, but I was really stupid and I hope that you can forgive me...blah bla blah.
So then I accepted his apology, he hugged me, and everything has been awesome since! We are really good friends and that's the only thing that i care about. We weren't meant to be together, and I get that now. All i needed was closure. We've hung out like three times since, and we have so much fun together. this is the best ive felt about the whole situation since it started like 9 months ago.
