The power went out Friday, and so I created art....
First I did my pregnant boobs:
Then I did my pregnant belly:
This was the final product:
Then I read a poem and was inspired:
Song of a Transparent Woman
By Roswell Spafford
It is exhausting
Standing here without my skin, my heart blinking
Under the webbed rainbow of veins.
I do not know
How I came to this place
This pedestal
Where I rotate
Slowly.
I demonstrate
Myself.
“Reproduction,”
I say,
And my uterus flashes green.
Isolation
Is the word I know best.
When they are finished with me
They roll me into a case
Lined with black velvet.
My brain sits on my head
Like a weighted cap
And nothing
Speaks to me
Or glows.
Finally, this is how I felt:
And incase you were wondering....I felt GREAT!
