Well... lets try this again

Well this being a new year I'm going to try to update more. This is more for family friends than anything else but whatever. Things have drastically changed since mid-Sept. haha. Well that new guy is far gone, thank god. I hate it when I know something isn't good for me but I stick around anyways. My New Year resolutions are write more (like this and privately) and to not get into a relationship. I know that is a little weird but I need to just get used to being alone. I like having someone around too much and end up staying with people even though I'm not happy enough to justify it. This last one ended fairly badly and I see it only getting messier because I'm very angry and vindictive.

So. Last semester was still great despite the ass. I've been really social and just enjoying life. Working at the newspaper and classes on top of that was stressful but this next semester I will only be working a few extra hours at school so it will be much better. I LOVE my floor. My residents make me so happy. I've gotten pretty close to some staff members as well. Unfortunately two of them will not be there next semester which really sucks. AU is still kind of hard because I don't have one group of friends but it also makes life much more interesting.

This break has been dramatic haha. Well even before I left DC I’ve been enjoying the finer points of being single. Then I came home and for the first time that I can remember got in a huge fight with Jeff. I’m really pissed off that he hid a new relationship from me and put me in the most awkwardly painful situation that I can remember on Christmas Eve. After all that I have been upfront about (especially considering he’s never known one of the other guys I’ve dated nor ever had to meet them) it just really angers me. It also sucked because I guess what idealistic/innocence I had left is now gone. I’d thought that we had this really open mature friendship and I guess it’s just not what I’d built it up to be.

That being said I’ve been hanging out with another guy from high school named Ryan which has been great fun. He went to school for flying then decided to get a degree in political science so we have a good amount in common. It’s just a nice change of pace because there’s no complicated history and he’s a great guy. And he taught me how to drive a stick shift.. which I have issues with but still hah.

So the big event was New Year’s Eve. I had some friend’s over to my aunt’s house which turned out great. I feel kind of bad because it was more people than I’d thought would be there but I think overall it went pretty well. There are some pretty funny pictures. My little cousins had a great time seeing all the young adults drinking. About half the people stayed over and everyone was safe so I think all things considered it was a great safe way to bring in the new year. My uncle was also hilarious so that made for some fun stories. I also apparently was determined to play DDR? Haha…. Oh lord I wish I hadn’t been so tired/or drank so many strongbows hah(c:
Top 3 things about the party:
3. Playing boxers and briefs (like Apples to Apples but racier)
2. Throwing baby powder down the stairs (apparently because I thought people were setting me up for a joke, which they were, and I got pissed) and hitting Matt in the head haha
1. Have my little cousins getting me and my friends drinks out of the fridge as we were playing games. They also took all the pictures I have.

So now my days consist of hanging out with the family (we saw the circus today), hanging out with friends, studying for the GRE and shopping. I’m starting to feel like it’s time to go back to DC so that is good because I’m only here for a few more days. So I will email out this web address again and will hopefully stick to updating this time.
