NY!!!!!!!!!!

I love NY!

Ok so as some of you may know, I went to NY yesterday to see Wicked for the second time. So I missed basketball practice, but who cares! It was so worth it!

When we were at dinner at the restaurant right next to the Gersh, there was a table all set up with food and when we asked the waiter why, he told us that DENNIS QUADE had called ahead and said that his food should be on the table by 6:15 and he and two other people would come later. So as my family and I were leaving, he walks in and I am literally standing 2 feet away from him! I have never actually been that close to someone famous! It was kinda cool.

So the show!
It was amazing, but who could expect anything less! Jennifer Laura Thompson is a very funny person, but personally I prefer Kristin as Glinda. The show began and when Jennifer came out, it surprised me how much she looked like Kristin, but omg she is so much taller, but who isn't taller than Kristin? So when Idina came out, she got more applause then I expected, but she was so on and so amazing throughout the entire show! Although Joey McIntyre has a really good voice, I wasn't very impressed with his performance. Norbert was much better. Jennifer was very funny in the fact that she imitated the way Kristin walked and only someone who had seen Kristin would understand and be amused. Jennifer was not so good at the high operatic notes as Kristin was, but then again Kristin can just belt those notes like its nothing. Jennifer didn't so the whole flashing routine that Kristin did during Popular but oh well...it was good anyways. I must say though, Kristin and Idina had more chemistry onstage than Jennifer and Idina did. George Hearn is not a good Wizard at all. Joel Grey was so much better. George was too young and did't embrace the role as well as he could have. He wasn't very good. Defying Gravity was amazing, as it always is, but wow Idina did quite a good job. I wasn't as impressed with the ensemble this time, no idea why, I just wasn't. Michelle did a good job, but she seemed like she didn't want to be onstage, like she was angry or something (some of you know what I'm talking about.) THe ending was very sad, but for those of you reading this that have not seen it (for shame!), I will not give it away. As you might be able to tell, it was amazing!!!

Ok so after the show, my parents were standing in the lobby, waiting for me, and they just so happened to begin talking to the stage manager and they just so happened to mention that I have been listening to the soundtrack for 7 months straight (heehee...I know I'm a freak.) So the stage manager then told my parents for me to write her a letter and she would send me an autographed playbill! So of course my parents got confused. We went to the stage door and saw Christopher Fitzgerald and Joey McIntyre come out. Then my dad wrote this thing on a napkin and got to go inside the stage door! I was freaking out cause I was like omg what is he doing?! So then he cam back out and told me that he got confused so he just stood there, while someone radioed up to the stage manager so he could clarify what he was supposed to do, or rather what I was supposed to do. So that will be fun, as soon as I actually write the letter, but it definitely will be soon!

So basically, I had a ton of fun during my short (very short) time in NYC! It was very exciting and almost indescribable (even though I just did.)

Phew, if anyone actually bothers to read all of this, more power to them!

<3 a very happy person!
