"You can almost see through them," Coreen says, with a soft smile.
Squirrel nods, before pressing a kiss to her hair. "I thought you'd like it here," he answers her, leading her slowly with an arm around her shoulders. Evan laughs as a butterfly lands on his ear, tickling him.
"Momma, Daddy...butterflies!" he says in his tiny, toddler voice. Coreen grins at him.
The butterfly house was a brilliant idea. A great way to celebrate three years of being together, and expose their son to something this beautiful.
Coreen takes out her camera and sketch pad. The colored pencils at the ready as she begins to snap a few pictures of her two boys, before Joe takes the camera out of her hands, and takes a few pictures of her.
She settles down on a bench, to start sketching a butterfly when Joe clears his throat.
"Madame Butterfly...wasn't...expecting to see you?"
"Of course you weren't, ass. It's not like this is a butterfly house or anything."
Coreen glances up and sees a woman in a dress printed like a monarch butterfly. She whistles low. "That's some gorgeous material."
The woman glances over to her for the first time and smiles. "Thank you...I made it myself."
"Really? I've been designing my own line, and I've been looking for someone really good at printmaking."
Madame Butterfly beams over to her, now ignoring Joe in his now-fighting stance, to sit beside his wife. "I'd love to help! Here's my card, we can work out some arrangements. I'm Madame Butterfly, and you are?"
"Oh, I'm Coreen. Coreen Fennel. Joe's my husband," she says with a bright smile.
"Well then. I'll just leave you and your family alone, and we can get in touch soon...work something out."
"I'd love that!" Coreen says, offering her a hand, which is taken and shaken. "Soon."
The woman leaves, and Squirrel looks at his wife in astonishment. "'the hell just happened?"
"I just saved the day, and my clothing line."
"Happy anniversary, babe."
"Happy anniversary."
