meh nothing interesting going on here. I'm just procrastinating doing my homework yet again. I'm so ready for school to be over. Unfortunately, school isn't ready to end. So I'm not doing work, but still getting graded. It's sad how that works.
Today I sang the Verdi Requiem in the Duke Chapel. It went well, i guess. I don't know, it's not my favorite piece. I don't really like big oratorios and stuff, they're just not my thing. I don't really get them. I much prefer my motets and anthems and such. Afterwards there was this reception for our director at the Washington Duke Inn which is like this really expensive place where all the rich people go. I went for the free food. The open bar also helped. There are some great people in chorale, most of whom are leaving. I'll miss them so much next year. I was riding with this one senior girl and her boyfriend on the way there. They're so cool. And then on the way back I was riding with this guy Jeremy who I'm in love with but in a comepletely platonic way. I like want him to be my big brother. God, I LOVE him. Anyway, he's a sweetheart even if he is 24 and graduated 2 years ago. He's probably leaving next year too and I'll miss him so much. Aww I heart chorale and I'm so glad I did it.
I have the weirdest taste in music. This weekend i actually bought 3 cds off iTunes even though I don't need them at all. I bought the Dana Owens Album which is really good. I <3 Queen Latifah so much. She's honestly like my hero. Then I also bought Howie Day and I'm listening to it right now. He's the guy who sings the song collide, and is SOOO good. I wasn't gonna buy the whole cd but then i decided that i probably would like it so i just went for it. It was a good choice. Third I bought Michael Buble. I had heard of him but hadn't heard that much. But Jeremy was playing him in the car today and i fell in love with his voice so I bought the cd as soon as I got back. Plus I stole my friend's garden state soundtrack which i've been meaning to do forever. So yeah, this has been a productive weekend music-wise.
Oh yeah, I also signed up to try out for an a cappella group this wednesday. I'm not really sure why I did that. I don't really expect to get in, but if I do get in I don't think i'll have time to do all the things I want to do. EVen so, this is the only group on campus that I actually want to be in. So if i get in I'll do it, and if i don't then I'll lay my a cappella dreams to rest and be ok with that.
