So, I Started on Godzilla Movies...
So, I've been watching my way through the 80's/90's Heisei series of Godzilla movies recently. They're fun, but, at four movies in, I have to say it: the 90's Gamera movies are still winning for me.
Although, "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah" comes close with its time travel plot. Partly because I'm a sucker for time travel. Partly because it's such an involved story. A lot happens in its not quite two hour runtime. And, upon thinking through the time travel hijinks, they neatly tie up loose ends in the series via the stable time loop this movie creates.
However, it did let me down a bit in that the cast travels back in time to change history and returns to have the people who stayed behind saying, "It looks like your mission must have worked!" While the cast later learns that they didn't change the timeline as planned, wouldn't the fact that anyone knew to check for the change have immediately tipped them off that they'd failed?
Eh, it was still a fun movie and one I expect to enjoy in re-watches.
