AnE Chapter 77 Fangirling
After peeking at the raw/untranslated version of Ao no/Blue Exorcist Chapter 77, I couldn't help cackling. It's like the story's come full circle back to the brothers' first mission together. And, Rin still isn't fond of Yukio's tactics ;)
THIS. This is the teamwork I've been waiting for! It's not flawless. There's no perfectly synchronized moves, but, if there were, it wouldn't be Rin and Yukio. This is how they do teamwork, and I want more of it!
Okay, so Yukio was creepy making his offer to Hachiro. But, it was also so perfect. Finally, he used that much-talked-about brain of his and made it convincing by tapping into his own ruthless tendencies. Also, he finally used said ruthlessness for a good purpose. And, when he told Shura she was free... Yukio, you are like Shiro, you are, just through your own methods. Shura, please tell him he's like Shiro. He needs to hear it.
Otherwise: Shura is saved! *cheers* Rin was way, way cool appearing out of nowhere to skewer Hachiro. Rin is adorable being proud of his little brother even when said brother creeps him out. And, Yukio shot Rin in the face and said he'd be down for twenty minutes?! Okay, was he assuming Hachiro could tell he was using darts rather than bullets or is Rin that tough these days? Lastly, Hachiro wants a Round 2? It's time to go for the Roy Mustang Method of dealing with immortals, Rin. Burninate 'im as many times as it takes.
Also, jumping back to comment on the previous chapters with the flashback of Shiro taking Shura away from Hachiro and giving her a name of her own and a chance to choose her own life... I'll say it again - every single parental figure in this series is all about freeing the next generation from the chains of the past. Which makes me wonder all the more what it was Shiro couldn't tell Yukio yet. Did he have a plan to somehow free the twins from the curse of being Satan's children? The evidence is leading me to think YES.
And, while I'm fangirling, Shonen Jump posted an epic AnE cosplay with a pair of real life twins. They even have an adorable little black and white cat!
As is obvious, yes, I'm not dead. Life has just been a bit weird lately. But, I have made a few scrap posts as well as posting the proper opening to my FMA/AnE Fusionverse over on Mindtwins.
