1. Total number of books owned? Six overflowing shelves with other books strewn about my apartment. I never thought I'd say this, but I need to look into donating the books I'll never read again - such as In Her Shoes - so I can make room for more.
2. The last book I bought? The Playwright's Process by Buzz McLaughlin. G. recommended it to me when we were discussing his play and I eventually admitted I had a good idea for a theme but didn't have any idea as to how to write a play. He explained the author uses the same vocabulary we were used to and he said it would be helpful to me, and he was right. Sprinkled with practical examples from the most well-known plays and words of wisdom from today’s greatest writers, McLaughlin combines a practical and easy to read How To book. I've underlined and highlighted, this one is a book I'm happy to have in my theatre library.
3. The last book I read: Ghostlight by Frank Rich. I didn't pay a lot of attention to the cover where it clearly says it's a memoir, but would it have killed Rich to explain how he became one of the most respected, and feared, theatre critics? His memoir wasn't any more interesting than the hundreds of other kids who developed a love for theatre to escape from their real lives. That said, I did enjoy reading about how mesmerized he was when he saw a show for the first time, and how he'd go home and listen to the cast recording, trying to remember every single thing he'd just seen on stage. There was a nice comfort in reading about that.
4. Five books that mean a lot to me?
1. Prozac Nation by Elizabeth Wurtzel - I don't recall every having a book make me laugh and cry at the same time.
2. Making it on Broadway by David Wienir and Jodie Langel - It made me feel at peace with my decision not to be an actress anymore once and for all.
3. The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand - D. and I discussed this book so often when we first met and often referenced it when we were trying to figure out what our relationship was about. I loved hearing his interpretations and the warm tone in his voice. I miss him.
4. Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian Weiss - This book made me realize that it was much more important to be spiritually connected rather than being religious.
5. Acting Power by Robert Cohen - We had to read this my senior year in college, and along with the brilliant teacher we had, I finally came into my own as an actress. The mysteries of acting were finally explained. Cohen's book would also be an excellent way to win Survivor.

1. I love anything with a green apple scent.
2. I rarely paint my nails.
3. My gag reflex has grown stronger in the past two years and my weak stomach has weakened even more; I dry heave at the drop of a hat.
4. Carol Burnett once called me and remembered calling me six years later.
5. I sometimes talk in my sleep when I'm exhausted. Friends have told me I have full-out, but obviously one-sided, conversations.
6. I also walk in my sleep occasionally.
7. I've never had a credit card.
8. I'm genuinely disappointed when I don't win the lottery.
9. I cannot smell or eat mayonnaise even though I ate mayonnaise sandwiches when I was a child.
10. I love all Swiffer products, everything they've come out with is useful.
11. I love spicy things. My favorite snack is a triscuit topped with a slice of hot and spicy pepperoni, a slice of pepper jack cheese, a slice of jalapeno, and a slice of pepperoncini topped with hot sauce.
12. My feet have great arches and I have a nice turnout.
13. I love listening to a song and trying to notate it on blank sheet music.
14. I can name the states in alphabetical order in under a minute.
15. I haven't bitten my nails in almost three years - it's the longest I've ever gone without biting them.
16. I can cry at the drop of a hat.
17. I'm allergic to bleach.
18. I wish Dar Williams would revisit her Honesty Room/Mortal City days.
19. I brush my teeth for four minutes twice a day.
