yeah this is such a bad time for job searchy stuff, more so than usual. businesses seem to all be on end of year vacations right now.
and yeah about the forgetting learned info thing; that's one reason i'm not a big fan of institutionalized education as an barometer of competence. accumulate a ton of debt to pay someone to tell me things i already know or will soon forget? no thanks. it's even worse in technologically related fields; everything i learned in my tv and video classes (things both remembered and forgot): it's all completely outdated now. right now i'm working on bringing my web skills back because those too, fell by the wayside when i took a crappy unrelated part time job. :( a little bit of that 'if you don't use it, you lose it' theory applies; you kinda have to exercise your skillsets on a regular basis, and reevaluate time to time how they can be applied in ways you haven't yet considered.
but yeah for the most part, i'd say a majority of things taught in school are completely irrelevant to the real world (sadly). (like how do all those shakespeare students you've mentioned in the past - how do those nerds find jobs? lol!) & what you describe about that terrible job is also sadly the norm. everything is run by incompetent morons who neglect duties of adequate training, and then find a way to blame the person they didn't adequately train for not being able to mind-read and whatnot. economically short-staffed trend, i guess.

Yes, and I need to apply for at least two jobs a week so I can get my unemployment check. There's been times where I've applied for jobs that I know I have no business applying for so I can get my check.

So far, the ones I still hear stories about either work for the Shakespeare center, act with the troupe at the Shakespeare center, teach, and in the case of Justin the douchebag, he's getting his PhD from that Catholic College of America in DC...but he's a jew. I hate him even more because he's able to go to school and get his PhD.
