AO3 Issues?

Jun 14, 2012 21:47

Is anyone else having whacky formatting issues when posting to A03? I'm not talking about the 503 errors or the site loading, but actual posting problems?

I was going to upload High Stakes, Desperate Measures there, but anything that is italicized is really messed up. Like half the letters are chopped off and almost unreadable. (I'm using hmtl ( Read more... )

They're in the weeds at the moment, duck - I'd wait a few days. The volunteer source coding folks are working incredibly hard to get things sorted out, but it's probably better to give them a little breathing room than to keep trying.

Okay. I knew they were having problems, so I'll just wait. It's on LJ. I'm glad to know it is a known issue and will post it next week or whenever the site is feeling better.

Thanks!

only issues I've been having is with the speed in which the pages load.

luckily I haven't gotten any of those dreaded 502 errors *knocks on wood*

Hmm, have you actually posted, or were you just looking at the draft? Do you have any examples posted? If it's just italics messing up, that might be a front-end issue (with the CSS possibly) and if so I can investigate it more (but yeah, it's also worth waiting a few days, we've been doing a slew of deploys and a recent one might fix things...)

I was looking at the draft, but I read a story earlier there today and saw the same thing, but wasn't sure if it as browser or something.

No, rush, bb! I'll wait until next week. The fic is on my LJ so its not going anywhere. When things clam down I'll post it.

Thank you!

Hmm, do you remember what story it was? It might well be a browser issue, but if it's consistent it's something we should check out...(out of curiosity do you use Firefox? My FF recently updated and I've noticed a couple other sites doing weird font stuff...)

I was using FF at work and I'm on Opera at home, but I don't recall what story looked funny. Sorry. I just checked my older fic just now and they read fine. I'll wait until next week. I don't want to add to the stress and like I said, the story in question is already on my LJ.

(If I see anything again, I'll PM you)

(hugs)

I had some issues, but then I used a macro that was floating around sga-genficathon a few years back http://astolat.livejournal.com/157513.html

After converting from Word to lj-html, I just copied and pasted the results into AO3 as html and it worked perfectly.

Hope that helps ... :)

Nope. I hard code everything in hmtl for Lj so it's not that. I'm just going to wait, I heard there are some coding issues that need working out. Thanks, hon!

I posted the day before without formatting problems. It might be a browser thing -- I use Safari. But I'd give them a few days to finish their code work.
