Ima leave this unlocked b/c this is something that everyone should know.
So. Last night, October 1st, was the Dashboard Confessional show at Bowling Green State University. It was about 4 1/2 hrs away. These mothers seriously need to start playing shows closer to me.
John Ralston opened which was just such a major plus. I've been mildly in love w/ him since we saw him in April at the E-Town show. His CD is awesome. So, after he played, we went out the the merchandise table, and sure enough, he came out. Abby was the ballsy one that actually went up to him. I bought another one of hs cd's so I would have something for him to sign. He signed it for me and took a picture with Abby and me. John Mike had to take the pic w/ his phone though, b/c i was too scared to take mine real camera in. He was very sweet and kinda timid.
Here's my cd liner and our pic....
.
So, after that, we went back to our seats to see Chris. The preformance was pretty standard for him. Nothing really unexpected. He did play a new song where we all had to basically scream "OHHHH" like 50 times. It was ok. He said he's still working on the new cd, which, in April he said he had finished 3 weeks earlier. So, who knows. The encore was great. He did Vindicated and Hands Down (so he didn't leave us empty handed!) with his whole band and John's whole band. There were about 10 people on stage. It was awesome. There was so much energy. The BGSU audience sucked ass because most of the people there went b/c there was a concert at their school I'm sure and not because they heart DC. So, therefore, they didn't know like any songs. Which reinforces why the encore was so good, because people knew those songs.
So, afterward, I was a little disappointed because he didn't sing Swiss Army Romance or The Brilliant Dance. At that point I was rating it like a 7/10. (I'ma dork :-P) So, we walked around near his tour bus. We had parked pretty close to it so we saw it earlier. A couple of the guys from the band came out and we hung out to see if he would come out. By this point we had run to the car to get my camera. So, then, finally, HE CAME OUT! After Abby stopped screaming, she had the bright idea to run to the car and get what CDs we had so he could sign them. I got my SWA cd and I got Abby's Summer's Kiss EP. After a few minutes the people thinned out and we went over to him. He had 2 security guys w/ him. He signed my cd and my ticket and I told him thanks and I think I said thanks for coming out to sign stuff, but I kinda froze and didn't say anything else. I felt like we were bothering him. He was so small. He had lost his voice or else he was just whispering. I asked if we could get a pic w/ him and the security guys said "no, no pictures." So, we took pics of him, but not with him. John Mike got his stuff signed and then Abby went up.
Now, Abby and I have always said that whenever we met Chris Carrabba we were going to ask him what it was like to fall in love when you're ten. It's the last line of a song and we just couldn't figure it out, like, the reference to being 10. You know, like, what is it *like* to fall in love when ur 10. We need to know to fully understand the song. So, Abby asked him and he answered her! He talked to her for a few minutes even when he was signing other people's stuff so he could explain it to her. Then he held her hand when he was done. It was so sweet. I got all the pictures I could. It was just so surreal.
So, what is it like to fall in love when you're ten. My lips are sealed!
So, here's Chris Pics and my signed stuff..........

Here's Abby talking to him. OMG, look how he's looking at her. He hearts her fo sho.
And here's him still talking to Abby while signing other people's stuff.
So, that's about it. I then drove the whole way back home while the 2 losers I was with slept the whole time. But, I got us home in 3 1/2 hrs.
