I can't tell if this is a humblebrag or a sad admission

I have kept a list of the books I've read for the last eight years now. (WARNING: GIANT DORK) The number of books I read in a year has varied wildly. Out of curiosity I just did the math, and I've averaged 40 books a year in this time. Now, is that high or low? I mean, I'm aware it's high when compared to the entire population, but I have no clue if it's high or not for my personal demographics. I used to know three or four people who routinely read 100+ books a year and so my perceptions may be really warped. Also, I counted books I've re-read. Pride and Prejudice appears on that list at least three times.

Anyone have any data points for me to compare against? I'm curious.

mindfuckery, books
