Man oh man oh man, the kid took another leap. He's standing and cruising along the furniture and taking steps when you hold his hands and he has finally started to respond to his name and he knows NO means "I have three more seconds to do this before Mom moves me." We need a whole new level of babyproofing, but I can't stop watching him long enough to get any of it done, so I've decided I can deal for another two days until T gets home (rather than use the precious few nap moments for things other than sitting and going AHHHHHHH) and then we will lock all the drawers and cabinets, oh yes, and get some baby gates too and maybe a fireplace guard. Don't worry--there will still be plenty for him to get into or fall on and God knows he is getting good at falling. No matter how closely you watch he will fall, since he has no idea that he needs to hold on. He has a lovely bump above his left eye right now to prove it.
We are also still dealing with jetlag, which is interesting in a way. I am total crap at getting back into the groove after an eastward move, and Anton's not instinctively doing any better, so we are muddling along. I tried to get us up at 10:30 today but utterly failed and we slept until noon. This was after he went to sleep for the night at 3:15, and me at 5. MUST DO BETTER tonight or I might go crazy. If anyone has some awesome tips, lay 'em on me.
