Dissidia: Final Fantasy

Sep 05, 2009 20:04

Shawn picked up Dissidia: Final Fantasy for me (he had pre-ordered it for my birthday back in July) and I posted a reply to Glass's dA journal about my thoughts on it and I figured I'd repeat them here.

It's horribly out of character. and weak-plotted. Yet still addicting and fun nonetheless. Firion is particularly fun to play. Onion Knight is annoying as hell, to play as or against. Arrogant little bastard is what he is, but at least he isn't so goddamn EMO. Someone needs to shove Squall's retarded gunblade up his ass and tell him to get over himself. Cloud too. Sure, they were like that in the original game, but... if they're gonna change the other characters then why not make them smile once in a fucking while? Harumph.

Visuals are nice. I'm glad that they didn't fuck with the original designs too much. They were tweaked to be more interesting but they still retain enough of their original traits to keep that nostalgic charm.

Thank god school is starting on Tuesday. It should give me the creative kick in the ass that I need. Oh, got a pretty kickin' laptop yesterday too, so that I can work on my own setup in the classroom. More on that next time.

Four hours of sleep is not enough in a night!
